April 2, 2010 - PRLog -- Atlanta, GA (April 2, 2010) - A new educational conference and trade show, the eDiscovery SummitTM, premieres in Atlanta, October 18-20, with unique, interactive learning opportunities for anyone involved in the procurement, production, and dissection of electronically stored information (ESI), along with high-tech vendors who will demonstrate the latest in eDiscovery technology and services.

At the convocation, industry-recognized experts in the legal, technology, security and information governance fields will present their latest findings, demonstrate state-of-the-art technology, and offer case law updates on ESI.

The eDiscovery Summit, which will be held at the Cobb Galleria and Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, Georgia, is the perfect forum for advanced eDiscovery practitioners to industry novices. The conference includes three parallel tracks as well as an exhibit hall packed with the tools and services required by eDiscovery.

The Legal Track, ideal for attorneys, paralegals, and litigation support professionals, will feature mock hearings presided by well-known judges that will cover overly burdensome ESI and admissibility, a 30(b)(6) deposition involving electronic information security, and talks by legal ethicists, jurists and attorneys regarding the unique pitfalls of electronically stored information.

The Technology Track will appeal to information technologists and managers who may be involved in the collection of ESI or in the review of data once it has been collected. Exciting new tools surface almost daily while the war horses of collection and preservation continue to evolve at lightning speed. In addition to recognized speakers, a number of vendors will also demonstrate one-on-one their value propositions in hands-on workshops.

The Digital Forensics Track is geared toward digital forensics examiners as well as information managers of corporations, law firms and government agencies. These sessions will provide insights into the latest eDiscovery tools for large and small operations as well as how to avoid many pitfalls involved in ESI collection.

The eDiscovery Summit is brought to Atlanta through the American Society of Digital Forensics and eDiscovery (ASDFED). The registration fee for this information-packed conference is $299 per registrant. (Even deeper discounts are available for multiple attendees from a single organization.) Applications for professional education credits, including CLE, are pending. Sponsorships are also available.
