TUA-Optima , a new pheromone lure for Tuta absoluta from Russell IPM

April 2, 2010 - PRLog -- The new lure TUA-Optima has been formulated to deliver three advantages to the user over what it is currently available in the market.

1.   Higher catch rate to enable more effective mass trapping programs.
2.   Longer operating life span particularly in open fields at elevated temperature.
3.    Steady release rate to ensure consistency of performance throughout the  
                     operating life of the lure.

Over the past 18 months, TUA-500 has proved to be the industry favourite around the Mediterranean for its consistent and reliable performance. TUA-optima is a new development to offer an added performance excellence under the most challenging field conditions.

TUA-optima is best used to maximise the performance of conforming water traps. Its effect will be best felt if used in conjunction with the Ferolite trap (The combined pheromone and pheromone trap).

Tuta absoluta has been advancing to the eastern parts of the Mederannean where field temperatures are expected to be higher than those in the western parts. Mass trapping is key element in the program of management of Tuta absoluta and particularly at the early stages of the pest break out.
