April 5, 2010 - PRLog -- Detroit, MI - The board of directors for Real Life 101 is committed to improving the higher education opportunities of at risk inner city youth. Their program provides funding, laptop computers, mentoring and tracking of our selected students. Ferguson knows the importance of his company’s continued support to the future leaders of tomorrow.

In 2000, Sid E. Taylor, saw a need in the community relative to the youth and the challenges they were facing. In an effort to fill that need Mr. Taylor founded Real Life 101 Scholarship Fund. This fund was set up to provide scholarships to underprivileged youth in Detroit’s inner-city.

Many children dream of attending college and may be the first in their family to attempt to reach this goal. However, many students needed guidance and support to reach the next level. The Real Life 101 Scholarship Fund began with middle school and high school students. Mr. Taylor and other board members held seminars on “Real Life” experiences at local public schools. The seminars covered topics such as job interviewing skills, what to expect from corporate America, how to gain job experience, and a panel discussion on business experiences which included business owners.

“Personally, I know the value of a good education because I have five kids,” Ferguson proudly exclaimed.  “I’m glad that our contributions our providing college scholarships for the future and laptops for today’s students in the Detroit Public Schools.”
