Project Equilibria Hosts Its 2nd Math and Science Workshop at Omega House in West Oakland

April 9, 2010 - PRLog -- On Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 6:30 pm Project Equilibria will host its 2nd concurrent student and parent workshops at the Omega House at 1448 14th Street in Oakland. The parent workshop, titled “Creating a Continuum of Learning” will teach parents the things that they can do to extend their child’s learning experience beyond classroom walls. The student workshop, titled “Math and Science: Out of the Box!”, will teach K-12 students how to learn about math and science topics of their interest outside of the classroom.  The goal of both workshops is to teach K-12 parents and students how to create learning experiences at home with or without technology and take advantage of those in the community.

“So many students and parents think learning can only take place inside the walls of the classroom” says CEO Dr. Saphronia R. Johnson. “However, you can create learning opportunities for your child when the school bells rings. There are many resources that will allow you and your child to engage in hands on learning activities at home. In addition, there are companies, community organizations and local colleges and universities that provide programs that your child can participate in to engage in hands on math and science activities.”

The registration fee for the parental workshop is $25 and parents can register downloading the registration form on the parent phase page of our website. The registration fee for the student workshop is $15 and students can download the registration form on the student phase of our website.  The registration fees for each workshop can be paid online and the registration form can be emailed to us at info@projectequilibria.com or mailed to us at P.O. Box 30441, Oakland, CA 94604.  Onsite registration is available and begins at 6:00pm.  Registration fees include all materials and refreshments.
