Save Goldhay Arts from Closing Down

April 16, 2010 - PRLog -- The group aims to provide a quality service for adults with a learning disability, with an emphasis on personal development through the arts.

In recent years the group has received essential funding from the Peterborough and Stamford NHS Trust but, due to various reasons (including the current economic climate) costs of running the group have risen dramatically. Unfortunately, the NHS has now advised that it cannot increase funding, which has left organisers with no choice but to announce the group's closure within the next 3 months.

This sad situation means that 34 members of Goldhay Arts face the loss of a facility that has offered them much needed support for the last 16 years. The members of Goldhay Arts are some of the most vunerable in society, let's not let them down...

Lesley Lake  an original member of the group, has started a petition to raise support for the continuation of Goldhay Arts. Now help us get even more support for this worthy cause.

Goldhay Arts was orginally run from the Lady Lodge Arts Centre and is currently run from The Cresset in Bretton
