11 lakh aspirants appear for AIEEE Entrance Exam

In what is termed as the ‘‘largest single day examination’’, at least 11 lakh engineering aspirants across the country gave their All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) on Sunday.
 
April 25, 2010 - PRLog -- In what is termed as the ‘‘largest single day examination’’, at least 11 lakh engineering aspirants across the country gave their All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) on Sunday. Last year, over 9.5 lakh students had appeared for the examination. According to Central Board Secondary Education (CBSE), which conducts the test, said there were no reports any untoward incident during the exam and there was no change in the pattern of questions as compared to the last year.

‘‘In all 11.18 lakh students registered for the exams this year and there were a total of 90 questions. These questions comprised 30 marks in each of the subject for physics, chemistry and mathematics. There is no change in the pattern and we are expecting to declare the results within a month,’’ said director, special examinations, CBSE, Pritam Singh.

The AIEEE entrance exam score is accepted by the premier engineering colleges of the country. Some institutes that accept the score are the National Institutes of Technology (NIT) and the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIT), besides a few other central and state- funded institutions.

The three-hour paper carried 90 questions for 432 marks. These questions comprised 30 in each of the subjects of mathematics, physics and chemistry. Each subject had 24 questions of four marks each and six questions of eight marks each.
