April 28, 2010 - PRLog -- Dearborn, Michigan – Tom McPhee, Executive Director of the World Animal Awareness Society will be introducing the first High School Visionaries Club at a private gathering for the Dearborn Animal Shelter in Dearborn Michigan on May 11, 2010.  Five eager students from Dearborn High School will be in attendance to participate in the announcement and receive official credentials from the WA2S.org.
 
About the World Animal Awareness Society - WA2S.org High School Visionaries Club – The H.S. Visionaries Club is a chartered club of the World Animal Awareness Society.  The Mission of the Club is to inspire and foster student interest in visual texts, filmmaking and storytelling in their school and community and to encourage observation and documentation of the contemporary human/animal intersection.  The WA2S.org will recruit and attract students who have an interest in journalism, film, and/or artistic expression, with a particular interest in animals and/or human observation.  Learn more or sign up your student/school at http://www.WA2S.org and click on the “Projects” button.

About Tom McPhee - Tom McPhee founded the World Animal Awareness Society. Tom has been an award winning producer and director of film, TV, multi-language interactive media, as well as a specialty film/media distributor.  Tom McPhee is the owner of 2 media companies, Cave Studio & Man Smiling Moving Pictures. He traveled to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina to help provide relief to those affected.  While in NOLA Tom discovered an entire world he had no idea existed and most people never pay attention to: the world of animal rescue, which led to Producing/Directing  the award-winning documentary An American Opera. Over the last 4 years, buoyed by An American Opera: The Greatest Pet Rescue Ever! Tom has organically navigated toward developing filmed content with a focus on animal/pet-centric themes. Tom served as producer and host/character on two animal-centric TV shows in 2009 for Canada’s The Pet Network.
