April 30, 2010 - PRLog -- After already selling more than 1.2 Million records worldwide, Alex Staropoli, keyboardist, co-songwriter and co-band leader of the Italian epic metal band Rhapsody of Fire (latest release "The Frozen Tears Of Angels", April 30, 2010) launches new coaching program for unsigned rock bands.

Many aspiring and talented bands try to get their feet into the music business, but don't know how to start, where to start, who to contact or what to do. The result is typically that many truly great and deserving unknown rock bands remain, forever, unknown.

"Most talented unsigned bands are simply lost in the wilderness. They just don't do the right things in the right order, or don't do them at all. The biggest danger is often these bands assume the wrong things and have no clear path to success." says Staropoli.

The music industry has changed a lot over the last 10 years. At the dawn of the year 2000, many unknown musicians and bands were enthusiastic about the new age of online music marketing that is available to virtually any band on a modest budget. Most thought that making it in the music business just got a lot easier. Those early assumptions which still persist today have proven to be overly optimistic because the music industry has become only more competitive since 2000. Although unknown bands have more tools now than they did before - such as low cost or no cost online promotion via the web (particularly on social media websites), every other band does too. Plus, record labels typically dominate these mediums and don't pay close attention to social media popularity levels of unsigned bands.

In any case, no matter what the internet may offer, there are still a lot of other things that a band needs to do to become successful and that the music industry does pay attention. Just having great music is not nearly enough to get signed by a record label. There are many other factors that go into consideration, but that are neglected by most bands.

In order to help bands get on the right path and guide them on their way into the music business, Alex Staropoli, in addition to working with his own band Rhapsody of Fire, has been busy over the last 2 years working with music career mentor Tom Hess to develop their new Rock Band Success Coaching program. Both are excited about starting to work with a few new bands and help them build their music career.
