May 5, 2010 - PRLog -- One of the season’s most unique events on the Treasure Coast proved to be a very successful event.

The Treasure Coast Women’s Council hosted the Second Annual Bachelor/Bachelorette Charity Auction in late March at the beautiful Pelican Yacht Club on Fort Pierce’s South Hutchinson Island.  More than 20 Bachelors and Bachelorettes walked the runway to raise money for the VanDuzer Foundation.

The Bachelors and Bachelorettes were a diverse group of professionals including police officers, fire fighters, attorneys, nurses, office managers, and real estate agents.  Each Bachelor/Bachelorette provided a “Dream Date” including tickets to sporting events and concerts, gourmet dinners and chartered fishing trips. A Silent Auction with various donated items contributed to the success of the event.

“The caliber of this year’s participants was amazing and they all worked very hard to raise money for this year’s charity organization,” said Council President Julie Andrews.  “The Women’s Council is thrilled to assist such a worthy charity in our community and we look forward to providing them and other charities with additional funding in the future. We want to send out a big thank you to all our participants, sponsors and media partners who helped to make this event such a success.”

The event was emceed by Traxx Entertainment DJ Lynette Marraffa, who also provided dance music following the auction.  Guests were treated to delicious hors d’oeuvres prepared by the classically-trained chef at the Pelican Yacht Club.

Committee members included Council President Julie Andrews (Springhill Suites by Marriott, St. Lucie West), Pam Baldassari (Arbonne International), CJ DeJarnette (SunTrust Bank at Town of Tradition), Veronica Kolibab (inLife, LLC - The Logical Smoking Alternative), Myra Knowlton (The WSR Group, Inc.), Elizabeth D. Turk (www.RomanticVows.com & Sene Gence Cosmetics) and Jeannette Weiss (Simple Success Marketing, Inc.).

The Treasure Coast Women’s Council is a group of like minded professional business women with dual goals of promoting education for women and raising money for charity.
