May 19, 2010 - PRLog -- MISERY
Written fifty years ago, at the time of Detroit's automobile hay day and the beginning of a thing call Motown, was a curious song written by a 16 year old boy. Today that new sound appears to be everywhere other than in the city that created the craze. Enter Detroit rockin' blues singer Eliza Neals, who is striving to bring the world the real thing from the gentleman that created the sound with the first Motown hit "Money (That's What I Want)." Motown songwriting godfather Barrett Strong with Eliza Neals and Detroit co-producer Martin "Tino" Gross are currently writing and recording a Bluesy-Motown-Rock-Soul-Fortress! "Misery"  is the first single to be released from the upcoming album and it  "gives you something to dance to through the summer of 2010" says Eliza Neals "it's a homegrown Detroit USA original product, unlike these soul imports."

Eliza Neals brings her new rock soul blues to her fans in the Big Apple at 'The Bitter End' in New York City on Friday Night, May 28th 9pm.  A music video is set to be released to accompany the single on the night of the show in NYC. Barrett Strong appears in his first music video in his 50+ years of creating music, "It feels like a ride at the carnival" says Mr. Strong. One of the images from the video appear on the album cover in tribute to his years as a Detroit songwriter still struggling with the draconian Motown contracts.

More:
Eliza Neals has been has become a regular traveler between her home town of Detroit and New York City. She has enjoyed playing the oldest running musical venue in New York City "The Bitter End" in Greenwich Village to name a few. "The Detroit Music scene and the New York scene are similar but extreme" says Eliza. The Detroit native was recently nominated for a 2010 "Detroit Music Award" in the crowded Outstanding Blues / R&B category. "Just being nominated is winning to me and I travel a lot", "It's important for me to write with the best out there. Barrett is not just a great writer, he has so much studio experience, singing and recording expertise. He helped create the sound of Motown that America loves, he cannot become a forgotten genius."

"The new songs are inspired by whats happening right now in Michigan and around the world" says Mr. Strong, "people need to understand the problems and fix em, sometimes good music breaks down those barriers."

Detroit needs a small victory and this combination of talent will produce one for your ears, the unnamed album is expected to hit shelves in early 2011.
