Prafulla Dahanukar Wins Election for President of Bombay Art Society.

In hotly contested elections held on the 15th May 2010 in Mumbai, the entire panel of Prafulla Dahanukar won by a thumping margin to replace the existing erring Management Committee of the Bombay Art Society..

May 16, 2010 - PRLog -- The members of the 125 year-old Institution the Bombay Art Society turned up in huge numbers to vote out the entire management at the elections held on 15th May 2010. This was in response to the appeal published in local newspapers to stem the rot at the prime art Institution of India.
The hall was at the Jehangir Art Gallery was fully crowed with more than 600 members coming from far and near to vote at the venue. There was no place to stand. But the voters braved the heat and long wait in the queue to cast their votes. The voting started at 6 p.m. and ended only at 9 p.m. The counting was done throughout the night and the results were then announced.
The entire team headed by Prafulla Dahanukar was declared elected by a thumping majority.
Prafulla Dahanukar standing for the post of the President secured the maximum number of votes and completely routed her sole opponent. Messages and telephones calls are incessantly coming in to congratulate Prafulla Dahanukar for her thunderous victory.
