Follow on Google News | HITBJobs To Run Web Hacking Challenge and CISSP Training at HITB2010 AmsterdamHITB Jobs (M) Sdn Bhd (HITBJobs), the innovative IT security recruitment specialist, is pleased to announce an exciting line up of activities to celebrate the inaugural Hack In The Box Security Conference in Amsterdam (HITBSecConf2010 Amsterdam).
By: Belinda Choong First introduced in Malaysia at HITBSecConf2007, the HITB web hacking game challenges participants to beat the hackgame in the shortest possible time using only a simple web browser. HITBJobs will be featuring the game this year in HITBSecConf2010 Amsterdam as an opportunity for students, security enthusiasts and curious onlookers to try their hand at a simulated real world hacking challenge. “The web hacking challenge is one of HITBJob’s recruitment tools – it is an opportunity to assess one’s aptitude in translating know-how to real world execution. This integrates with our goals of discovering skilled IT and Security job candidates for recruiting companies,” says Belinda Choong, Marketing Director of HITBJobs HITBJobs’ web hacking challenge and recruitment portals will be featured at the public exhibition area during both conference days (1st to 2nd July) at the NH Grand Krasnapolsky Hotel, Amsterdam. HITBJobs will also feature a 4 (four)-day CISSP® Prep Class by Security University (SU). The class will be led by veteran “Master” Trainer Clement Dupuis who is known worldwide as the leader in CISSP® Examination Preparation training. Security University’s CISSP® Prep course prepares information security professionals to pass the rigorous six-hour Certified Information Systems Security Professional [CISSP®] examination. With a 99% pass rate, this SU CISSP® Prep program offers each student a zero-distraction, fully-immersed CISSP® CBK training and certification experience that employs accelerated learning techniques to minimize time-to-proficiency while maximizing retention. At press time, 15 seats are left. The training runs for 4 days before HITBSecConf2010 Amsterdam (27th to 30th June). The CISSP training fee is EUR2300 for four days. Students also have a “best buy” option to attend both the CISSP® Prep Training and HITBSecConf2010 Amsterdam at a subsidized package fee of EUR2999. HITBJobs was conceived and launched just as everything else related with HITB - through demand from its supporters and pure organic growth. Focusing primarily on sourcing highly skilled technical engineers, HITB Jobs is positioning itself above traditional recruitment portals by drawing on its technical staff to vet applicants - something that more general recruiters are not able to do as well especially when it comes to network security specific roles. In addition, by using metrics which were previously designed for conference challenges and applying these to the education sector, HITB Jobs is also able to filter out promising fresh graduates who, by passing these security exercises, will be given a stronger ranking in our database. This type of additional technical grading will mean that employers will be able to focus not only on academic skills or pure paper qualifications, but will get a clearer picture of how their potential employees will fare in the real world. “We’re excited to be partnering Security University for the CISSP® Prep training in Hack In The Box’s inaugural European conference, and look forward to a great event,” says Choong. About HITBSecConf2010 Amsterdam Beginning in 2003 with HITBSecConf – Malaysia, the HITB network security conference series has grown to not only cover Dubai (UAE), but is also making its new home in Amsterdam. The HITBSecConf enables the dissemination, discussion and sharing of critical network security information. Presented by respected members of both the mainstream network security arena as well as the underground or black hat community, HITBSecConf routinely highlights new and ground-breaking attack and defense methods that have not been seen or discussed in public before. HITBSecConf2010 – Amsterdam will feature four tracks, HITB Lab sessions, a Lightning Talk segment, a two-man team based Capture The Flag Live Hacking competition, an Arduino Village, a Hackerspaces Village and in addition, members from TOOOL.nl will be on hand to conduct a lock picking village and a hands-on lab as well. There are only 500 seats available for this first ever event with student pricing for the conference (1st and 2nd July) only at EUR 250.
