Follow on Google News | LG Masters the Art of Light Cooking at International Cooking CompetitionLG Electronics Australia (LG) is today celebrating its recent wins at the grand final of LG's international cooking competition, 'Life Tastes Good Championship', held in Bangkok last week.
By: LG Australia Representing Australia was our own Masterchef grand finalist, Justine Schofield, who was awarded the 'Smartest Chef' Award by international judges for her tasty recipe of seared duck designed especially to be cooked in LG's SolarDOM Oven. The 'Cuisine of Light' themed cooking competition was developed to demonstrate the versatility and speed of the innovative SolarDOM. The 3-in-1 oven, grill and microwave features LG's unique halogen light which allows people to cook up to 3 times faster than a conventional electric oven, while also retaining the moisture and nutrients of the food. With this speed in mind, each contestant was given the challenge of preparing recipes that could be produced entirely in the SolarDOM Oven. The contestant's creations were then judged by award-winning chefs from some of the world's leading restaurants, including Le Cordon Bleu in Paris - proving the appliance allows people to cook restaurant quality food at home. Stan Bilinski, Senior Category Marketing Manager, LG Electronics Australia, says the international competition was designed to not only inspire people to cook at home, but also reinforce LG's leading position in the cooking category. "Globally, LG is investing in significant research and development to ensure we lead the way in design and technology in the cooking category. This includes the development of unique cooking products such as the SolarDOM, which provides people with speed and versatility in the kitchen. "We are also investing in the cooking category at a local level by continuing to provide consumers with premium cooking appliances that combine smart technology with stylish design. The LG 'Life Tastes Good Championship' was a creative platform for LG to showcase its great range of cooking appliances, while also reinforcing our premium positioning and encouraging people to enjoy cooking," said Bilinski. The cooking competition was judged by world-class chefs Cat Cora, Guy Martin, Khun Ik and Anna Kim, and featured contestants from around the globe.
