Game developers are punishing us for PC games without cooperative multiplayer option, which we are missing many opportunities for fun. Is this attitude justified by game developers?

May 31, 2010 - PRLog -- Probably if you were to ask any gamer on what will be the future of the same, we would answer that enhance the multiplayer and make it ever more interesting and novel. It is a reasonable response because the multiplayer is one of the funnier (the most fun for many) playing a video game. The multiplayer is not new, and in times of Spectrum had gaming allowing option to play through a modem or with a connector that no one had but that everyone dreamed of it, but it has suffered an impulse touches with PC'S and the Internet. http://www.pcgametrek.com/cooperative-action-games/

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (PC) This drive has made spectacular multiplayer mode is an almost essential part of any video game you want to have a significant sales and support of the gaming community is also important. The Multiplayer is booming and while the computer can not develop a true artificial intelligence will remain so.

But not everything is wonderful with the multiplayer and there are still many things to improve, so that we achieve the true potential. At this time, the multiplayer online anonymous people ends up being very chaotic and many times even boring. Not only is full of cheaters who use all kinds of programs that help fill gaps in the player and it can win, if not also go for independent players even if they are games in which it is essential to team coordination, which means that many of the games are played the same way. The thing changes a lot when you play with people you know, and that's when the multiplayer really reaches its peak.

But there is something about the multiplayer seems that all video game developers completely ignore the cooperative multiplayer. What is this?. Simply the ability to play several players toward a common goal, the computer win by playing cooperatively. More specifically, the power play campaigns that bring the single player game but with the help of other human players. It is not about team games, if humans play against the computer and with the same options as the single player game.

Many will think this is very common and include virtually all games, but nothing is further from the truth. Most games that are coming or going out are ignoring this possibility. What, eh, uh, how dare they? ... Well yes, ignore it almost completely and are rare exceptions include cooperative games like god. Titles as we can see how appealing for a co-op multiplayer Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Blade: The Edge of Darkness, Rune, Deus Ex, Thief 2, B17 Flying Fortress, Wheel of Time, Independence War 2: Edge of Chaos, Project Igi, Hitman: Codename and many others lack this option, including Unreal 2, which is shortly to come out and have already announced they will not cooperate. So let's reflect a bit on what could be the cause of this "ignorance" that prevents great games become masterpieces.

Why not follow the example of games like Unreal, Hidden and Dangerous series or Myth?. These are the same in cooperative play in single player and it is hilarious. Of these are particularly notable the case of the Myth and the Hidden and Dangerous, with two magnificent cooperative modes. And still above the H & D is not a miracle of technology, so the excuse that it is impossible to make a good single-player cooperative and is evident in this game. There is more notable for good cooperative, for example the series Rainbow Six or Ghost Recon developments, the Swat 3 Elite Commandos and even Serious Sam, an example of how a simple game with cooperative devilishly turns into fun. And speaking of hell is another example of good cooperative Diablo and Diablo 2, can you imagine someone without a cooperative Diablo 2?. And there are examples also in the role, the series Baldur's has an excellent cooperative mode that lets you play as if they were playing on one player, why Arcanum does not allow the same?.

Let's flip the tables, does anyone imagine what would a game like Independence War 2 Edge of Chaos with cooperative?, To explore the universe with friends, pirate ships together, act together to defend against attacks, or Deus Ex, Thief or The Wheel of Time or the Medal of Honour is not it fun that the chances increase significantly?. I think the answer to these questions are difficult to predict.

Hopefully the "forgetting" the co-op is a fad and that game developers realize that not everyone is multiplayer deathmatch and co-op can offer more possibilities for fun. Only necessary that the developers listen to the players and the players are asking cooperative screams.
