June 4, 2010 - PRLog -- On June 26th at 5:30pm at Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo, the Killamazoo Derby Darlins will provide a percentage of ticket sales to benefit the Pet Peace of Mind program provided through Hospice at Home. Guests are also encouraged to bring cat and dog food to donate to the cause.

“For many in hospice care, their pets offer unconditional love, acceptance, comfort, and companionship when its needed most,” states Beth Fones, South Haven Hospice at Home Volunteer Coordinator. “Pet Peace of Mind provides  helping hands and assistance so that volunteers are able to help patients with pet care needs. With this support, patients are able to complete their end of life journeys without worrying about their pet’s current or future needs,” continues Fones.

Offering the Pet Peace of Mind program places Hospice at Home in a select group of hospice providers that have joined a national network committed to ensuring this important patient need is met.  The program will expand to the other service areas of Hospice at Home over the summer.
