In an age of 21st century technology we still fail to understand what drives man to civil and international conflicts -- perhaps a widely acclaimed on the mind book could provide some answers?

June 14, 2010 - PRLog -- As the death toll of US servicemen in Afghanistan spills over the one-thousand mark, many agencies seek to downplay headlines that constantly read ‘US troops slain,’ ‘copter shot down in Afghanistan,’ ‘killed while on patrol’ or ‘suicide bomber kills dozens’ bringing news of pain and suffering to people across America.

Where does this savage nature of man come from? Could diplomacy and human understanding not resolve recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan? Is it the vast amounts of money gained from the manufacture of weapons designed with one purpose in mind – to kill a human being?

The wildly acclaimed book – Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, written by L. Ron Hubbard on the heels of World War II, when the Cold War was escalating, provides an explanation into some of the causes of war and how man’s savage and irrational instincts can be resolved.

Dianetics was released on May 9th, 1950 and has sold 21 million copies since and is available in 50 languages. Chapter one includes, “In the larger sphere of societies and nations, the lack of such a science of mind was never more evident; for the physical sciences, advancing thoughtlessly far in advance of Man's ability to understand Man, have armed him with terrible and thorough weapons which await only another outburst of the social insanity of war.”

L. Ron Hubbard’s first hand experience at war began in 1941 when he was commissioned as a Lieutenant (jg) of the United States Navy Reserve. Later that year as the United States entered World War II, L. Ron Hubbard saw action with the command of a convoy escort in the Atlantic and later a subchaser in the Pacific. His humanitarian research into the source of man’s troubles began many years earlier and was interrupted by the war. During the war he was able to use this experience to observe his fellow man in the most challenging conditions of all – the threat of loosing their lives.

L. Ron Hubbard made a sweeping discovery in the field of mental health – painful incidents and experiences are stored in a part of the mind called the Reactive Mind and can later react on a person causing someone to act irrationally and below his conscious level. Additionally, he developed a technology explained in Dianetics that rids man of his insanities (contained in the Reactive Mind), which lead to irrational behavior and can prompt conflicts and in fact war in the first place.

L. Ron Hubbard became one of the most prolific writers of the 20th Century with 19 New York Times Bestsellers, 230 million works sold across 150 countries of earth. The household name, Guinness World Records officially recognized Mr. Hubbard as of March 2009 stating “The most published works by one author is 1,084 by L. Ron Hubbard (USA),” and as of April 2009 another world record was declared, “Most audio books for one author is L. Ron Hubbard with 185 published audio books as of 21st April 2009.”  For more information on Dianetics visit www.dianetics.org.
