In the article, Dan Schwartz, President of Karl’s Appliance, emphasizes that participating in Nationwide Marketing Group, a national buying cooperative, allows the company to provide competitive prices on everything from basic ranges and one-door refrigerators to luxury La Cornue ranges imported from France.  

Schwartz explains how Karl’s Appliance takes a regional approach to sales and service in order to gain a competitive edge over appliance megastores.

He is quoted in the article as saying, “Our stores are pretty focused on serving the hometowns.  We have delivery services that can deliver most items within one day.  We also have a number of employees who have been here for 20 years or more, so some of our sales staff members are selling co the grandchildren of their earliest customers.”

Schwartz also reports that Karl’s Appliance has almost quadrupled its business in the last decade and that adding new stores inside and outside of Northern New Jersey is a possibility for the future.
