Mad O Wot: “The only” salon to have made a music video, they always set the trend be it a funky salon, stepping out of the step-ford salons or making a video leading to something larger. In this case it’s a brand extension to Mad O Wot that is going to be the trend setter. It’s not an ordinary production house, if you know Sapna Bhavnani, you know nothing is ordinary. The production house is dedicated to making music videos, short films and ads. Mumbai is evolving yet again.

After launching her second salon in Andheri, this is the next venture she takes on. Known for her quirky and funky style, she lets it out the only way she knows how to- in a grand way. The music video was inspired by a thought- Yudhishtir Urs a.k.a ‘the fire starter’. A group of friends came together to create a music video with minimum time and resources. A mysterious benefactor saw Sapna Bhavnani’s vision and supported her. This was an apt way to introduce the Mad O Wot Productions, purely based on inspiration and creativity. Right from the start of the music video you have two well known faces dressed in bell bottom suits cue old Hindi movies stepping out of jail speaking an unknown language. And there Sapna Bhavnani dressed in a bedazzled all white Elvis Presley suit rocking the Elvis hair handing out Mad O Wot cards in one hand and holding a mike in another.

There are 6 vocalists and 4 of them not only sang their parts but appeared in the video which includes Ishq Bector and Uma Shankar known for the choreography in “Uff Teri Ada.” The love for music is apparent by the different genres like hip hop, R&B, Cavalli and of course bollywood masala. The clothes reflect the music. You have influences of bollywood, where the cast dresses up as their favourite bollywood actor or the blues being reflected in the Elvis Presley hair do and suits. The burst of originality in this video lets you know the creativity that you can expect from this production house.

Shiraz Bhattacharya steered the quirkiness with his camera and Sapna Bhavnani was not only caught at her best but also directing others at their best. The two twin bald men we all have become familiar with, bring the production house down with their alter ego side. The first time you have two bald men promoting a salon.

There are a lot of firsts and be prepared for them, for its only going to get quirkier, funkier and mad mad mad mad mad Mad O Wot!!
