Taking New Media to the Public, Dave and Tom Comedy Connects Audiences with Web Series Creators

July 5, 2010 - PRLog -- July 7th at 7:30pm, at the historic El Cid in Los Angeles, hit Web Series producers, Dave Beeler and Tom Konkle, will be hosting the new monthly event “Webseries Unplugged.” Sponsored by online television network, StayTunedTV.net and event promoter Michael McCarthy, this event is designed to bring new media, webseries creators together with their audiences and fans to network, get feedback, and grow awareness for their work.

Long-time collaborators, Beeler and Konkle are well-known for their comedy productions and have gotten high praise for their groundbreaking use of 3D technology in producing and releasing “Safety Geeks: 3D,” last month making it available on-demand at Yabazam.com.
“We believe that bringing creators and fans together offline will help strengthen the growing New Media Community,” said Tom Konkle, Co-founder of Dave and Tom Comedy. “With the explosive growth of video viewership on the Internet, webseries creators not only have access to create and distribute their On content, they will hopefully be able monetize it by growing their brand and audience.”

Distribution platform, StayTunedTV.net is one of the first on-line television networks to bring independently produced webseries under a single banner. Launched by Timothy Ryder, the producer of such shows as That ‘70s Show and 3rd Rock from the Sun, and writer/producer Frank Zanca, the site currently hosts over 50 different shows and growing, including those created by Dave and Tom.

“Webseries Unplugged” will be held on the first Wednesday of every month at 7:30 PM pst. The lineup of webseries for this month is as follows: Inventions, Safety Geeks: SVI , Mustache Emporium, The Greatest American Hero, The Time Dealer, 00bama, St. James Zoo, You Love I, Misadventures in Matchmaking, and Saving Rent. The El Cid was the first 12-reel picture motion picture to set an all time box office record. For 11 years, it was viewed by more than 100 million Americans at the high-ticket price of $2!
