July 19, 2010 - PRLog -- Quickly rising through the ranks of the New York indie music scene is the Berklee bred duo, MUJ. In just a few short months, the band has created major buzz, having performed to packed houses at venues like Arlene's Grocery, Spike Hill, and now, The Mercury Lounge.

Founders Allen Hulsey and Emre Atabay first crossed paths in 2004 whlle studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Their earlier efforts were influenced by Eastern microtonal music and avant garde composers like John Cage and Teddy Riley. In 2006, they formed the band Static Picture, and experimented with more mainstream styles. In 2008, they moved to New York and formed MUJ, a band that fuses the best of dance pop, rock, world, trip- hop, and techno.

On July 24th, MUJ will be celebrating the release of their highly acclaimed album "2012" at the Mercury Lounge, which is located on 217 East Houston Street in New York. Doors open at 8PM. Show starts at 8:30PM.  $10 to enter.
