July 24, 2010 - PRLog -- This didnt include viruses that are not officially known or are 'in-the-wild'. Figures suggest at least five malware samples emerge on the Internet every two minutes and 15 to 20 new Trojans are released every half an hour.

Virus protection is no longer an after-thought. It is a necessity. Criminal organisations have bought into the production and sale of viruses for illegal means with networks making available virus 'supermarkets' or virus 'ebays' on the web. No longer the domain of computer programmers, or 'script kiddies' who would design a virus as a hoax, viruses today are big business. Today, in 2010, the internet is rife with identity fraud through email phishing and web scripts - an industry which is growing at an alarming rate. Many of these viruses use the absolute latest technology to negate your antivirus software and infilitrate YOUR PC, to steal your confidential information, or to use it for malicious means. Virus creation and its detection is no longer a game. The stakes are high, and what is up for grabs is YOUR PC and big $$.

You may also not know that for several years now, according to VB bulletin & AV-Comparatives, two highly respected independent testing laboratories, TrustPort Antivirus, using the latest anti-viral technology, has proven to be the most effective deterent against viruses, malware, and spyware.

Unlike other regular 'single-engine' antivirus software, TrustPort uses 'multi-engine' scanning software. As one engine scans deep into your system for viruses, the other also examines the code deep within your system to detect viruses that are engineered to hide from regular 'single-engine' antivirus programs, ie when the virus files are disseminated and at their most vulnerable state. No other antivirus has this ability.

According to Kaspersky (a well known 'single-engine' antivirus company), most antivirus programs are fighting a losing battle. Criminal organisations that design and sell their malware are becoming more prevalent and most antivirus programs are struggling against the onslaught on both individual computers and networks. According to the article, “The virus writers are now so good at beating the AV products that the game is falling to the side of the criminals.” The internet today is no longer the domain of home users that simply want to use it for legitimate purposes.

In April 2010, a record number of sixty antivirus products was submitted for the April tests of Virus Bulletin. During on-demand testing, TrustPort Antivirus detected 100% of in-the-wild viruses, 99.94% of worms, 100% of polymorphic viruses, and 99.81% of trojans. TrustPort Antivirus scored better than any competing product. “All three reactive weeks of the reactive and proactive sets were treated with disdain, and even the proactive week presented few difficulties,” comments John Hawes from Virus Bulletin on the results of TrustPort Antivirus. The average reactive detection of the product reached 97.17%, proactive detection 79.66%. On the overall average of both reactive and proactive methods, TrustPort Antivirus successfully detected 92.79% of the submitted malware. Detection levels that high are a result of sophisticated antivirus technology, based on multiple scanning engines.

Did you know that just 1 virus NOT detected by your current antivirus may cause your computer not to start? Does your current antivirus offer a detection rate comparable to TrustPort? If your current antivirus isn't providing you with the protection you need, why risk it?

TrustPort is the world's No.1 in antivirus protection. Our software can protect you against the latest viruses and at a fraction of the cost of other software programs.

Dont leave your computer to chance.
