By: Evan Gassman; Young America's Foundation

July 27, 2010 - PRLog -- HERNDON, VA – Young people across the nation see that the big government policies enacted by the current administration are not the solution to the nation’s economic woes.  That’s why Young America’s Foundation will be hosting “Milton Friedman Day” on Friday July 30, 2010, from 2:00-3:00 pm on Capitol Hill in the Rayburn House Office Building, Room 2325.  The event will include a panel of three speakers who will discuss “What would Milton Friedman Do?  Classical Liberal Answers to the Modern Economic Crisis.”

This event is a unique opportunity for young people to hear from a panel of economist and conservative minds about the important impact of Milton Friedman’s ideas, and their continued relevance to the current economic policy discussion.

“Milton Friedman Day” is part of an annual international effort to promote Milton Friedman’s ideas.  Young America’s Foundation’s event will be one of 64 programs held in five countries around the world. The Foundation for Educational Choice, which is solely dedicated to advancing Milton and Rose Friedman’s vision of school choice for all children, is internationally promoting the July 30 program.

William F. Buckley Jr. has called Young America’s Foundation programs “major events for conservative students throughout the country.”

Attendees at this special program include:

•   Jonathan Williams, director, tax and fiscal policy task force, American Legislative Exchange Council and co-author of Rich States Poor States
•   Steve Slivinski, research fellow at the GMU Mercatus Institute and former director of budget studies at the CATO Institute
•   William Beach, director, center for data analysis, The Heritage Foundation
•   Donald Parsons, professor of economics, The George Washington University

Young America’s Foundation invites all Capitol Hill staff members for the Conservative Movement and interns to attend Milton Friedman Day and learn more about the importance of free market ideals and solutions.  Free refreshments will be provided.
