Teenager From South Africa, Official Greeter for the World Cup, To Crown the Next Miss Teen World!

Gaspar Cruz, Executive Director of the Miss Teen World Organization, announced that teenage role models from over 30 countries to compete for the title of Miss Teen World the week of August 9-14, 2010 in Houston, Texas.
 
July 28, 2010 - PRLog -- Creator and Executive Director of the Miss Teen World Pageant, Gaspar Cruz, proudly announces that Tayla Robinson from Johannesburg, South Africa will return to Houston to crown the newest representative of teens from all over the world.  

The young lady who captured the crown a year ago is a 16-year-old high school student.   Tayla is a nationally-recognized dancer and has traveled internationally to participate in dance competitions.  Speaking both English as well as Afrikanas, Tayla served on the official welcoming committee for the World Cup in South Africa.  In addition to her studies, Tayla also volunteers for Sparrow Village Florida Baby House and serves as the Goodwill Ambassador for the Miss Teen World Organization.  She has appeared with some of South Africa's most famous singers like Garth Taylor and the band Watershed.  To add to her busy schedule, she also has made various television appearances.

In a recent statement, Cruz said, “We are excited to be the fastest growing teen program in the world, with over 30 countries represented.  Our first Miss Teen World, Amy Jackson from England, has gone on to become an international sensation starring in movies and modeling for major companies throughout the world.”  

Johnathan Kayne, from the hit show Project Runway Season 3 as well as TLC’s Gown Crazy is a proud sponsor of the Miss Teen World pageant, providing gorgeous opening number dresses to the international contestants.   To represent the diversity of each country represented, the young ladies will also wear a national costume of their own choice for a special segment of the program.  

During the week-long international event held in Houston, Texas, the young women will participate in a Meet And Greet event where many new friends will be made.  Several photo shoots have been scheduled, one of which is the official swimsuit photo shoot with suits provided by Crown Couture Productions.  As participants in the photographic campaign for the Bully Suicide Project, another special photo session will feature all of the contestants to promote the idea of Love Not Hate!  It is an important message that the Miss Teen World Organization hopes to bring awareness to in conjunction with Campus Harmony Inc.

For the international competition, each contestant will be scored in the categories of Swimwear, Evening Gown and Personal Interview.  These scores will determine the Semi-Finalists, who will go on to compete in Onstage Interview. As of press release date, the following countries or regions have confirmed representatives in the contest between the ages of 13 to 19:  Armenia, Aruba, Australia, Belarus, Canada, Curacao, Dominican Republic, England, Ecuador, Georgia, Greece, Guyana, Honduras, India, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Korea, Namibia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Moldova, Mexico, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, Scotland, South Africa, South Pacific, Ukraine, United States, Venezuela, Wales and Zimbabwe.

The winner of the international pageant will receive prizes including educational scholarships, media training, wardrobe from XOXO Clothing, shoes from Frederico Leone and more; but most importantly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a representative of teens throughout the world.
