Carlsbad Village Association announces 12th Annual Art in the Village

Aug. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- CARLSBAD, CA, AUGUST 2, 2010:  Carlsbad Village Association (CVA) is proud to announce the 12th Annual Art in the Village, Artist and Artisans in Carlsbad which will be held Sunday, August 8, 2010 from 9am – 5pm at State Street, Roosevelt Street and Grand Avenue in the Village of Carlsbad. The one day art faire is a long standing tradition in the Village of Carlsbad, and is held on the second Sunday of August each year. The event draws approximately 20,000 visitors every year.

Art in the Village features over 100 local and regional fine artists in mediums such as oil painting, watercolors, photography, mixed media, new media, classical and contemporary sculpture, as well as artisans who work in the mediums of jewelry making, woodworking, furniture, pottery, hand-painted clothing and accessories.
Each artist and artisan that is participating has guaranteed the authenticity of their work and will be on site so the public can meet each and every artist. According to Robin Young, executive director of the CVA, “Many of our artists are world renowned and have had their art featured in major galleries and museums worldwide, we are so pleased with the caliber of artist our event is attracting.”

New in 2010 is a larger variety of family-friendly arts and crafts lessons designed to engage attendees, young and old in the process of making art. Many local artists will be on-hand teaching a wide-variety of mediums such as pastels, traditional drawing, ceramics work and a special program called “The Magic of Art”, combining art and magic as a fun and engaging learning experience.
