Arizona Teen Pregnancy Rates Among the Highest in the Nation

Aug. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Several years ago the Guttmacher Institute compiled a list of state teen pregnancy rates and ranked Arizona second, only behind Nevada in the number of pregnancies by women 15 to 19 years of age.  The Tucson Citizen reported in an article in May that, “Arizona consistently ranks as a state with one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the nation…”

The most recent statistics from the Arizona Department of Health Services website shows that in 2008 14,047 females under the age of 20 became pregnant and 230 of those were to girls under the age of 15.
