Pawnee City, Nebraska - There's a New Website in (and around) Town

Sept. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- Pawnee City is a great place to live in Nebraska, and now, with the launch of the Pawnee City Area Online Community, it's a great place to "live" online, too. The site was created by a Pawnee City resident for the people of the city and those in nearby communities, but it provides information and features that will appeal to visitors and prospective residents, as well.

Up-to-date information is an important commodity, and it can be hard to come by in rural areas where long-standing relationships and word of mouth are primary ways of spreading the message. Those methods can work...unless you're new to the area or just visiting a community for the first time and have not established connections there. Even if you've lived in a community all your life, word of mouth can prove unreliable and be biased by personal history.

That's what makes a website such as the Pawnee City Area Online Community a valuable asset. It makes information readily available to everyone with a computer and internet connection. And, with the exception of discussion forums, the information is relatively objective.

The Pawnee City Area Online Community offers a variety of information and features, including:

(1) Auctions, Garage Sales, and Fundraisers
Individuals and non-profit organizations are encouraged to list their events. Visitors to the site are encouraged to attend as many of the events as possible. Sales - bargains - food - fun...what could be better?

(2) Business Directory
The ultimate goal is to list every area business and, in the process, increase their visibility, encourage local buying, and boost the area's economy.

(3) Classified Ads
Individuals and organizations can list items for sale in the classifieds at no charge. There is a small fee for business ads, but help wanted entries are free.

(4) Real Estate Listings
Realtors and individuals are invited to list properties in the Pawnee City area for sale or rent. If you have pictures of the property, we can create a slide show to show them off.

(5) Events Calendar
Individuals, organizations, and businesses can submit events for inclusion in the calendar at no charge. We love a full calendar!

(6) Discussion Forum
Freedom of expression is alive and well in rural Nebraska, and this is just the place to express yourself. We encourage a variety of viewpoints, and differences of opinion are welcome...as long as they're kept "clean" and free from personal attacks.

(7) Government Directory
You'll find all sorts of information about the government entities in Pawnee City and each of the nearby towns.

(8) List of Organizations
If you want to get involved, here's the place to start. Information about a wide range of community organizations is included, and the list will continue to grow. We also use this space to announce the need for volunteers for events and/or projects in the area.

Our latest article can be found on the home page for the site, with archived articles in their own section. There's no rhyme or reason to the topics...it just depends on what's going on around the area. Or what's going on in the webmaster's head...
