Polyurethane(PU) Hydrocyclone, desilter cone

Sept. 3, 2010 - PRLog -- Polyurethane(short name PU) Hydrocyclone is a special abrasion resistant polyurethane which under certain conditions can give three times more life than rubber. GN solids control usually use such cone for desilter, 4 inch cone.

Cast iron hydrocyclone is a 27% high chrome cast iron which provides excellent abrasion resistance for most applications.GN solids control usually use such cone for desander, 8 inch, 10 inch, 12inch cone.

Silicon carbide
Liners manufactured from nitride bonded silicon carbide which provides superior abrasion resistance for softer and smaller particle applications.
Alumina
Engineered alumina tiles with 94% alumina which is suited to coarse particle high wearing applications.
Hybrid alumina and cast iron
Used in alumina lined cyclones where tramp metal is present. The cone sections are supplied in high chrome cast iron which is better suited to handling tramp metal.

Polyurethane Hydrocyclone is the most attractive device for removing solid particles from liquid . It utilizes the centrifugal force to effect the separation. The separation of solid from liquid depends on the particle size and particle density. Centrifugal force throws the particles out against the wall and they subsequently drop into the outlet hopper. Cyclone consists of vertical cylinder with conical bottom. The inlet point is near the top of the cylindrical portion. The particles separated are collected at the bottom. Hydrocyclone can be used to collect the particles in the range of 5 to 20 micron.

A hydrocyclone will normally have a cylindrical section at the top where liquid is being fed , and a base. The angle, and hence length of the conical section, plays a role in determining operating characteristics.
