The Association’ About James Worthy and Worthy Enterprises James Ager Worthy (born February 27, 1961 in Gastonia, NC) is a former UNC-Chapel Hill and LA Lakers basketball player, who was enshrined in 2003 into the Basketball Hall of Fame. Named as one of the 50 Greatest Player in NBA History, “Big Game James” was a seven-time NBA All-Star and three-time NBA champion. A standout for the North Carolina Tar Heels, the 6ft 9 inch small forward was the MVP of the 1982 NCAA Tournament and the #1 pick of the 1982 NBA Draft. Currently, as of the 2009-2010 NBA season, Worthy co-hosts LTV, the pregame and postgame show for Lakers road game telecasts on KCAL-TV in Los Angeles, and also serves as an NBA analyst for KCBS-TV in Los Angeles. In addition, as CEO of Worthy Enterprises, Worthy engages with companies to help them enhance sales and marketing initiatives, improve company culture and teamwork, charitable fundraising, and community relations.
