Retail Details Launches National Store Display Contest for Independent Retailers

At a time when retail is struggling, this display contest provides the props for free! US retailers are invited to submit pictures of store displays to qualify for phase 1 of the contest. Finalists will create a display using the provided props.

Retail Details Launches National Store Display Contest for Independent Retailers.
At a time when retail is struggling, this contest provides the props for free!

September 15, 2010 - Retail Details (www.swirlmarketing.com), a national visual merchandising company and creative blog, announces a "Call for Entries" for their New Year Store Display Challenge. This two-phase contest invites independent retailers to submit pictures of their creative store displays to qualify for the main event. Finalists will be chosen in November and will each be shipped an identical box of props to create a New Year's display to win prizes and get national exposure through the Retail Details blog.

A first prize of a $250 gift certificate for retail supplies at Gully's Discount Store Fixtures and a second prize of a custom designed store display from The Display Lab will be awarded to the winners when judging occurs after the New Year’s Holiday in early January 2011 by judges that include experts in the areas of home decor, floral design, product development, and visual merchandising. Winners will be announced via email, Twitter, Facebook, and the Retail Details blog by January 15, 2011.

Independent stores that have a physical (brick and mortar) retail location within the United States are encouraged to submit up to 20 display photos to be entered in the contest up until November 30, 2010. Finalists will be notified by December 10, 2010, receive their box of props by December 28, 2010, and be asked to submit up to five photos of their New Year’s display by January 7, 2011. Props are provided by Midwest CBK, a co-sponsor of the contest.

All displays will be judged on creativity, originality, product representation, and visual merchandising techniques. Finalists must use all provided props and may choose to add additional props when positioning and photographing their display design in either a store window or in-store display.

There is no fee to enter this contest. Email store display pictures to SwirlMarketing@comcast.net. The photos should be in jpg format and no larger than 4mb in size. Include the store name, address, owner's name, and contact information including email address and phone number.
