DYNAMO GIRLS Set to Kick Off Carpe Diem 2010 "Seize the Dreams" Competition for Kids in Houston!

Sept. 27, 2010 - PRLog -- Carpe Diem! 2010, a kids’ celebration to the concepts of dreaming big, working hard, and making it happen, will take place on Saturday, October 16th at Kingwood’s Town Center Park. The public is invited as the Dynamo Girls kick off the event at 11:00am with one of their sensational dance routines! The Houston Dynamo, Astros and Aeros will also be onsite for the event, along with mascots “Dynamo Diesel” and “Chilly”.    This exciting inaugural signature event of Will's Kids, a 501(c)(3) Texas organization, will feature a series of competitions, where kids, ages 4 – 18, have the opportunity to “Seize the Dreams” of their aspirations and talents. All competition entries will be judged, with scholarships being awarded to the winners!

"Envisioned as an event OF the kids, BY the kids and FOR the kids, we are inviting all kids to "Seize the Day" and "Seize the Dreams" of their imaginations!” says executive director, Janet Hayes. “The interest and response to date has been overwhelming.”  The first-year event competitions will include: Seize-the-Dream Photography Contest, Seize-the-Fire Culinary Competition, Seize-the-Muse Art Show, Seize-the-Beat Band Competition, and Seize-the-Day Video Contest.  The winning entries will receive $600 scholarships, and will be posted on the website. Will's Kids is pulling out all of the stops to make sure this inaugural event is not only exciting and rewarding for the kids, but it promises to be entertaining and memorable as well! And if those energizing Dynamo Girls, the Houston Dynamo, Astros, Aeros, and mascots “Dynamo Diesel” and “Chilly” weren’t enough….Sundance Head of American Idol fame will take the stage at 2:00pm and The Brendan Tanamachi Band will perform at 12:00pm and 3:00pm. The event will also feature a quest for the Top Dog in a series of weiner dog races, for all of those “dog lovers” out there!
