Fort Myers Art Festival Offers Art Sale, Live Performances, Art Demonstrations & Kids Art Activities

Art. Music. Dance. Theatre. Education. Community. The Alliance for the Arts, in Fort Myers Florida is kicking off Lee County’s cultural season at their 8th Annual Walk Through the Arts, a FREE FAMILY ART FESTIVAL on October 30, 2010.

Sept. 28, 2010 - PRLog -- Art. Music. Dance. Theatre. Education. Community. The Alliance for the Arts is kicking off Lee County’s cultural season at their 8th Annual Walk Through the Arts, a FREE FAMILY ART FESTIVAL on October 30, 2010.

For the first time, Walk Through the Arts will include art demonstrations and an Alliance Member Art Fair offing one-of-a-kind, handmade pieces. Participating artists include Bri's Creations, Charlie's Country Cupboard, Randon Eddy, David Hammel, Ann Harrison, Pauline Healey, Doug MacGregor, Lisa Grinter, Kathryn A. McMahon, Ken Lamers, Lisa Grinter, Christine Vernier-Pesce, Christina Prendiville, Mary Ross, Andrea Tank and Mary Lou Williams.

Kids are invited to wear their Halloween Costumes and participate in Fall Art Projects with the Alliance, become a musician with the Southwest Florida Symphony’s instrument petting zoo and play dress up with Florida Repertory Theatre’s costume dress up trunk.

There will be live performances by Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre, Creative Theater Workshop, Dance Alliance, Hot Flashz, Kellyn Celtic Arts, Dance Academy, North Fort Myers Academy for the Arts, Opera Naples, The Dance Warehouse and Young Artists Awards.

Guests will meet a variety of SWFL art organizations including ArtFest Fort Myers, ArtPoems, Arts for ACT Gallery, Art of the Olympians, Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre, Cape Coral Art League, Cape Coral Art Studio, Fort Myers Beach Art Association, Florida Repertory Theatre, Gulf Coast Symphony, Gulf Coast Writers Association, Kaiser-Lee, Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, Signature Chamber Concerts, SW Florida Craft Guild, Southwest Florida Symphony, The News-Press Media Group and The Weavers of Char-Lee.

Among artwork for sale during this event, the Alliance’s GreenMarket will be open on the north side of campus offering sustainable products that are locally grown, caught and cultivated.

Join community friends and neighbors at the 8th Annual Walk Through the Arts on October 30, 2010. The Alliance invites the community to enjoy this campus-wide event that showcases the many opportunities to get involved and experience the arts in Lee County.
