Electric Garden Progressive Rock Festival - Update 4th Oct

Oct. 4, 2010 - PRLog -- The initiative by the festival to offer free Prog goody bags is also proving popular. With support from labels Burning Shed, Musea Records and Sonic Vista amongst others the bags will contain CD's and other progressive rock related items. The Goody bags are only available to the first 300 ticket purchases but even if you don't get tickets early there is still a free programme for all ticket sales and any 2-Day pass purchase will receive the official audio CD and DVD documentary of the event Directed by David N Pilling of Noetic pictures.

The documentary commences filming this month with initial interviews and trailer production.
A small team has been assembled to oversee all aspects of production.

More bands have also been added to the bill. Nerve Toy Trio is the new project involving multi-instrumentalist Tony Harn. Tony has released 5 solo albums and is signed to Burning Shed, seen by many as the holy grail of progressive/post rock labels. Tony collaborated with Tim Bowness and Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) on the latest No-man album.
Tony was also a member of the duo Resindust which also featured Lewis Gill (Vivahead).
Musically they're pitched somewhere between King Crimson, Rush, Steve Hackett and The Police.

Abel Ganz - The neo-progressive band Abel Ganz was formed in Glasgow, Scotland, by Hew Montgomery (keyboards) and Hugh Carter (bass, guitar) in 1980. Taking their influences from 1970s prog rock bands Genesis and Yes.
After a hiatus in the nineties the band reformed and produced their most acclaimed album to date 'Shooting Albatross' in 2008.

The Yes tribute band SEYES have also been added to the bill. Following their recent show at the Pacific Arts centre in Birkenhead the festival panel asked if they would like to appear.
Having honed their interpretation of the Close To The Edge album the band are about to go into an 18 month rehearsal period for Tales From Topographic Oceans. With the festival falling in the middle of that period we could see an unusual combination of both albums! SEYES have played with Yes drummer Alan White and re-create the expansive sound and intensity of classic-era Yes concerts, showcasing the intricate arrangements, dynamic instrumental solos, and rich three-part harmonies that have always been the hallmarks of Yes live performances.

The organisers say they still have one or two surprises up their sleeves even though ticket sales are already very healthy. "Our offer of substantial free merchandise with ticket sales is proving so popular that it looks like we can already look ahead to a successful festival" said festival administrator Ken Foster.

The Electric Garden Progressive Rock festival has also announced that tickets are now on sale via HMV.
Foster said "We're delighted to partner up with HMV again. They are probably the best known music brand name in the UK and their promotion and administrative help will give us a major boost.
