FORT MYERS, October 11, 2010 The Franklin Shops on First Street will be opening December 2010 in the River District of Downtown Fort Myers.  This business offers retailers the solution to the escalating overhead cost of operating a retail business.  The Franklin Shops on First Street’s “Shop Concept” is the answer for retailers, designers, artist, and manufacturers to survive and once again compete in the mass merchandising retail arena.

The Franklin Shops on First Street will be located on First Street and Broadway in Downtown Fort Myers.  The building was originally known as The Franklin Hardware store.  This 10,000 square foot building offers the opportunity for up to seventy businesses to call the River District their home.

The Franklin Shops on First Street will function as an all-inclusive Shop Space management firm.  Leasing Shop Space within the Franklin Shops on First Street offers entrepreneurs services that include: facility management; personnel management; customer service management; and daily operation services.

By leasing space to different entrepreneurs with unique visions and ideas, The Franklin Shops on First Street has the ability to offer a wide variety of merchandise to customers and a unique shopping experience.  The Franklin Shops on First Street will provide entrepreneurs with the opportunity to: start small; identify and modify merchandise being sold; and grow their passion into a real business in the Southwest Florida area.

The Franklin Shops on First Street operates on a unique floor plan that provides three different spaces-sizes: Shop Space, Square Space and Pop Up Shop Space.  Shop Space ranges in size from 100 to 500 square feet; Square Space is available on the first and second floor; and Pop Up Shop Space starts at 80 square feet.

The Franklin Shops on First Street has identified a strategy that will provide boutique-level retail store to recapture their customer base and once again compete in the mass-merchandising retail arena.  By joining together, the start up costs and the daily operating costs is part of the investment The Franklin Shops on First Street provides to its Shop Owners.

The Franklin Shops on First Street’s vision is to provide an upscale facility and daily operation services for Shop Owners.  Thus, allowing Shop Owners to devote time and attention to identifying and maintaining stock of merchandise that will provide their customers with unique shopping experience, making The Franklin Shops on First Street a Southwest Florida destination store.
