By: By: Shaya's Media Group In an industry where women fight to have their voices heard and their own spot in the limelight, three women have chosen to take that industry by storm and bring their movement to the masses. Through the fusion of what they deem a mixture of “street and couture,” June5th is that spark the industry has been waiting for. Classifying their music as “Street-Couture” “When we first came together we met because we were all in the business,” states member Tiffany Fox. “Through conversation we realized a void in the industry for female rappers and decided to do something about it. So we joined forces on june5th and became the group June 5th.” Named after the day they feel they gained their independence, liberation, and became one, June 5th is all about the empowerment of the female sex. Through lyrical abilities that teeter between being the voice of the 2010 female and that reminiscent of Hip Hop’s past, when women MC’s had something to say and people listened, they are truly bringing their experiences, presence, and powerful voices full circle. Being based out of St. Louis Missouri a city known for producing Top 40 artists such as Nelly, The St Lunatics, Chingy, and Baby Huey, these 3 women collectively look to bring a different type of shine to a city known for mainly breaking their male counterparts. “Being in St. Louis we have seen artist break on a major level,” states Brooke Holladay. “So we know that it takes hard work and strong drive, which we all have.” Driven, inspired, and empowered by the unity of women in music, June 5th looks forward to being a breath of fresh air in today’s music industry. As strong women stacking their claim on Hip Hop, June 5th is out to carve their own niche and make their own lane. Already easily identified as being different and original due to their pop like sound and cutting edge style, they are still able to find an audience in Hip Hop while effectively tapping into other genres. This ability to mix in between genres and fan bases has attracted the attention of a number of industry insiders who are all anticipating the wrath of June 5th. One popular management firm Mizay Entertainment realized this early and immediately signed the trio. With success from their previous single “Worst Day” featuring Snoop Dogg impacting radio and the Internet, and now their latest single "Dollaz" June 5th is currently housed at Mizay Entertainment Inc., a talent management powerhouse, founded in 2007. Mizay Entertainment under the direction of Debra Antney is responsible for catapulting the careers of Gucci Mane, Nicki Minaj, OJ da Juiceman, Waka Flocka Flame, and more. Known for its results and impact in changing the music game, Mizay Entertainment is dedicated to evaluating the careers of talented entertainers.
