Nov. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- (Springfield, Va.)—Alhurra and Radio Sawa are providing comprehensive coverage of the U.S. midterm elections to millions of people throughout the Middle East.
Leading up to the Nov. 2nd Election Day, Alhurra and Radio Sawa will be reporting on the issues that are resonating with voters before they pull the lever. Tonight, Alhurra will produce a special program America Votes from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. (all time EDT) giving viewers a preview of what they can expect on Election Day. The network will examine President Obama’s influence on the elections; highlight key races; profile the rise of the tea party and discuss the relationship between the legislative and executive branches of government.
Alhurra’s live coverage continues on Tuesday, Nov. 2nd. Coverage begins at 7:00 a.m. and continues throughout the day and into night as the election results are revealed. In addition to expert analysis; Alhurra’s correspondents will be stationed across the country to highlight key races, including California, Nevada, Illinois, New York, Florida, Delaware and Ohio.  The reports will focus on what the outcome could mean for the 2012 presidential elections; how U.S. foreign policy impacts voters and provide insight into the issues that are important to voters.
Alhurra’s flagship program Al Youm will also provide in-depth coverage of the U.S. midterm elections including reports on what the outcome will mean for America and the Middle East. Al Youm’s reporting will include reaction from Jordanians and Egyptians watching the U.S. elections; and their expectations for the upcoming elections in their own countries.
Alhurra will provide a complete round-up of the elections with special programming on Wednesday, Nov. 3rd from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.  Throughout the day, Alhurra’s newscasts and Al Youm will examine what the election outcome means for U.S. foreign policy and reaction to the media interest surrounding the elections.
Radio Sawa’s coverage will also include updates from polling stations; as well as live reports from Alhurra’s correspondents across the country. Radio Sawa’s coverage will include reaction from American officials and interviews with Arab-American voters; as well as updates as the election results are confirmed. Radio Sawa’s evening program Sawa Magazine (11:15 p.m.) will also focus on the election results.
