Alphasonik Participates in Battle of the High School Marching Bands

Nov. 12, 2010 - PRLog -- Alphasonik Car Audio is proud to announce its participation in the "Battle of the High School Marching Bands" competition taking place on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at The Home Depot Center in Los Angeles, CA. Battle of the Bands is a national and local high school marching band competition where the top finalists will battle it out "Southern Show Style" for $10,000 to purchase new instruments or uniforms. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Home Depot Center Charitable Foundation and the VH1 Save The Music Foundation to help save the music at inner-city schools.

The coveted title and prize money will go a long way for the winning high school marching band."

The finalists that will compete on November 20 are:
·         Clifton J. Ozen Magnet High School Marching Band = Beaumont, TX
·         Compton High School Marching Band - Compton, CA
·         Crenshaw High School Marching Band - Los Angeles, CA
·         Dominguez High School Marching Band - Los Angeles, CA
·         James S. Rickards High School Marching Band - Tallahassee, FL
·         Inglewood High School Marching Band - Inglewood, CA
·         Lithonia High School Marching Band - Lithonia, GA
·         Stephen F. Austin High School Marching Band - Houston, TX

The event's title sponsor is JetBlue Airlines who is providing roundtrip tickets on the award winning carrier for each out-of-state school. The schools can use the tickets as a fundraiser or for travel to and from the event so they can enjoy the award-winning JetBlue experience.

Over 15,000 fans from all over the U.S. are expected to attend the event at The Home Depot Center, many of whom will be family and friends of the high school students participating in the competition. To encourage attendance, "Battle of the High School Marching Bands" has been heavily promoted through print, online, email blasts, grassroots marketing, and radio especially in the Los Angeles area where the show is taking place. The Home Depot Center, Staples Center and the VH1 Save The Music Foundation will send thousands emails hyping the event and posters have also been displayed at local businesses and schools.

Alphasonik has teamed up with L.A. urban music radio station 102.3 KJLH (owned by Stevie Wonder) on a special on-air radio promotion giveaway where listeners will have the opportunity to win a new Alphasonik car audio system and tickets to attend Battle of the Bands.

2010 event marks the sixth Battle of the High School Marching Bands in seven years. More than 100 high school marching bands applied to compete in this year's event.

"It didn't matter how big or small of a role we participated in Battle of the Bands, we felt it was important for us to get involved," said Alphasonik president, Nasser Abo Abdo.
