Green Vehicles, Leyden Energy Launch Technology Partnership at New Salinas Factory

Nov. 19, 2010 - PRLog -- Plug-in electric vehicle innovator Green Vehicles™ and battery industry leader Leyden Energy™ will inaugurate a new technology partnership Saturday, November 20, with a reception and test drives of the Green Vehicles Triac™ freeway commuter at Green Vehicles' new factory location in Salinas, CA.

Among the guests will be Dennis Donohue, Mayor of the City of Salinas, which is a backer of Green Vehicles. The company has also recently received a $2.05 million grant from the California Energy Commission.

Saturday's event begins at noon at the Green Vehicles factory, at Firestone Business Park, Suite 30, 340 El Camino Real S, Salinas, CA.

A new category: clean mobility for commuters

As an affordable all-electric commuter vehicle, the Triac is unique. Capable of 80 mph on the freeway, it has a range of 100 miles, and will be priced well below other mainstream electric vehicles.

Green Vehicles' proprietary VEDA (Vehicle Efficiency Data Assistant) System takes a ground-breaking in-context approach to linking vehicle performance to the driver and surroundings, resulting in lower "fuel" costs, reduced range anxiety, and an enhanced commuting experience.

Additionally, the company aims for zero waste in manufacturing and vehicle recycling -- making the Triac truly green, not just on the road, but throughout its product life cycle.

Integrating best-in-class battery systems

Leyden Energy will co-locate its battery test equipment alongside the manufacturing operations at the 80,000 square-foot Green Vehicles factory. This integration into the production process improves whole-system quality assurance and reduces production time.

Green Vehicles was born out of necessity in 2007. The company's founders wanted all-electric transportation options for their day-to-day needs, but no practical solutions then existed.
