Nov. 23, 2010 - PRLog -- The 15th Annual Telephone Factory Art Show is gearing up for an art lover’s weekend on Saturday, December 4th and Sunday, December 5th. This event is open to the public. Admission and valet parking are free.

Established in 1995 by resident artists who sought to promote and sell their work in a lively and interactive setting. The Telephone Factory Art Show guests have the unique opportunity to visit artists in their studio/home/galleries. The setting offers patrons a sense of artists inspiration, community and passions.

By 1997, the show was so well received by art lovers and artists alike, that the show expanded to include guest artists. It started with artists who were acquaintances and friends of resident artists. Today, guest artists may submit examples of their work and a biography to the organizing committee for consideration to participate in the show. The committee then places guest artists with Telephone Factory residents willing to host an outside artist for the weekend.

Interior designer at Instinctive Design (http://www.instinctive-design.com) and Telephone Factory resident, Melissa Brown, has participated in the show as a guest artists, resident artist and host over the last seven years. This year she is joining the show by hosting three artists in her space. Returning artists Adam Wellborn (http://adamwellborn.com) and Jenny Henley (http://www.henleystudios.com) both displayed their work in Melissa’s loft last year. Joining them this year is first time participating artist Dawna Shusterman. Says Ms. Brown, “Hosting artists and having my home open during the tour allows me to support living, local artists. The spirit of the show is infectious, building residents want to participate even if they’re not artists themselves.”

Telephone Factory Art Show patrons are encouraged to visit every gallery in the space for a chance to win raffle prizes awarded at the end of each day. The prizes change every year. Previous year’s prices included iPod Nanos, iPod Touches, even a scooter.

This year, each participating loft gallery will feature red and white wines provided by Sister Louisa’s CHURCH of the Living Room, co-owned by Grant Henry, aka Sister Louisa (http://www.sisterlouisa.com), who has participated in The Show & Sale as guest artist, resident artist and organizer since the The Show’s inception. Returning sponsor, Java Vino (http://www.javavino.com) and CHURCH will provide coffee service on Saturday and Sunday respectively and, TWO Urban Licks (http://www.twourbanlicks.com) will provide creative, culinary treats to entice visitors in each loft.

The Telephone Factory Art Show has become a much-anticipated event. Last year's event attracted an estimated 3,000 art lovers.
