Dec. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- Aura Imbarus survived Nikolai Ceausescu and the revolution, only to attend a celebratory party after the revolution ended, and being sexually assaulted by the party giver in his home. Brutally honest about all she survived and thrived in, Aura moved to the United States to recreate her life, in freedom. She decided that nothing would be bleak for her anymore.

Aura is an educator, professional speaker, and the author of the critically acclaimed memoir, Out of the Transylvania Night: A Story of Tyranny, Freedom, Love and Identity, and a new book for teens, 101 Great Ways to Make the World a Totally Awesome Place - By Teens For Teens. Aura writes for: The Immigrant Magazine, Beverly Hills Times Magazine, Miorita and AbFabWomen. Born and raised in Sibiu, Romania, or more precisely in “Dracula’s county Transylvania," Aura attended Lucian Blaga University, graduating Cum Laude and earning an MA degree in American and British Studies and a Ph.D. in Philology. In the 1990’s, she worked as a journalist for Radio Contact, The National Journal, and Gallup Poll in Sibiu, Romania. In 1997, Aura immigrated to Los Angeles, where she continued her education at UCLA and began her teaching career as a high school and college professor. Aura was awarded “Who Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, Marquis’ Edition”; she was awarded “Someone Special at West High School,” awarded Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, and awarded Outstanding Young Educator. Aura received the 2010 Martin Luther King, Jr. Visions of Unity, 10th Year Teacher Recognition. She was one of the 5 members of the Romanian-American delegation to meet Prince Radu Duda of Romania, at the Beverly Hills City Hall. Aura is actively involved in the Romanian American Professional Network as well as Eurocircle, a professional networking organization of European origins. She is a mentor for Blue Heron Foundation, a non-profit and professional organization whose mission is to help Romanian orphans in her native country, a member of MLA- Modern Language Association, NCTE- National Council of Teachers of English, and NEA- National Education Association.

Aura Imabrus is interviewed on Deborah Dachinger’s “Dare to Dream" radio show which was been featured in Yahoo News, EarthTimes, and Singapore Star News. The show won the Intriguing Creator award from YouPublish, a Lifetime Honorary Achievement Award from Elite VIP, and has been inducted into the Wellington C. Mepham Who’s Who Hall of Fame.
