Follow on Google News | Boardroom Beauty - Important For Men & WomenThe Aziz Corporation (www.azizcorp.com) surveyed British executives in December 2010 to find out how much good looks and presentation influences career progression.
By: Aziz Corporation 96% of executives believe good looks boost a career. More than half of male and female executives would consider cosmetic procedures and 60% believe bad teeth are "unacceptable" The overwhelming majority (96%) of senior executives surveyed believe that a pleasing physical appearance will enhance professional progress. Just over half (54%) of all female executives and 50.6 % of male would consider having cosmetic treatments while 30% of women and 17% of men have already undergone cosmetic procedures, according to a survey by the UK's leading independent communications consultancy, The Aziz Corporation. The treatments most likely to be considered by men are cosmetic dentistry (26.6%), eye-bag removal treatment as reportedly undergone by Lord Sugar (7.9%) and baldness treatments (7.4%). Among female executives 21.5% would consider cosmetic dentistry followed by non- surgical fillers such as Botox (9.5%), liposuction (8.5%) and face lifts (6%). Poor teeth are seen as unacceptable in business by around 60% of male and female executives. More than 50% of executive women admit dying their grey hair compared to just 3% of male respondents commentating that grey hair makes a businessman look distinguished but just makes a woman look old. Men will take a very tough stance on fellow male executives sporting beards, moustaches and designer stubble, deemed "unacceptable" Unsurprisingly perhaps female executives take a much tougher line of fellow females wearing short skirts or low cut tops. Fewer than 50% of male executives thought this sort of dress was "unacceptable" Professor Khalid Aziz, Chairman of The Aziz Corporation said: "Our survey shows that executives are waking up to the importance of personal image. We are judged everyday by our appearance and those who neglect this, do so at their peril." Note to editors: 211 UK executives responded to this survey in December 2010. # # # The Aziz Corporation is the UK’s leading independent executive leadership and development consultancy.
