Dec. 18, 2010 - PRLog -- Hotels are building their own on-line universities to train their sales, catering, front office, and various operational departments.  Technology has improved drastically and hotels are building their own on-line training that is available year round and 24 hours a day.

Training on-line allows individuals to learn at their own pace and not interupt peak working hours.  Individuals can go back and repeat the trainng as needed.

Most important is that training that is on-line is no longer just pages of text, but rather, hotels are developing on-line training that replicates life like situations that employees experience on their job.

Hotels are reducing travel expenses, instructor fees, and increasing knowledge and performance of their employees.  Finally, another important factor is that management can review the progress of their employees via behind the scenes database tracking.

In person training is important, but it is more effective when it is combined with an on-line component.   Organizations that can provide customized on-line training are Ecornell, AHLA, and http://www.aprinda.com
