Keller Chick-Fil-A Helps Area Automotive Repair Shop Bring Christmas to a Hurst Family

Dec. 23, 2010 - PRLog -- As local radio station KLTY (94.9) took its "Christmas Wish" road show around the DFW area in early December, the station broadcasted from the new Chick-Fil-A at the Alliance Town Center in Keller.  Kelly Jeffrey Vaughn, Customer Relations for Jeffrey's Automotive Repair, took her daughter, Tori, to help choose a family from a large book of needy families.  The gesture was done on behalf of all the employees of Jeffrey's Automotive Repair.

Each year, the employees gather funds to honor owner, Morton Jeffrey, at Christmas time.  In recent years, in lieu of a gift, a donation has been made to help area families in need.  Last year, the employees raised money and made a charitable donation in Mr. Jeffrey's honor to the North Richland Hills' Community Enrichment Center.  SEE STORY: http://www.prlog.org/10458278-jeffreys-automotive-repair-employees-give-christmas-gift-to-community-enrichment-center.html

"This year, we have a special opportunity to bless a military family right here in NE Tarrant County," said Kelly Jeffrey Vaughn, oldest daughter of Morton Jeffrey.  "When I went with my daughter to pick out the family on behalf of the other employees, she was drawn to Mary because she and Tori are similar in age."  Mary (actual names withheld for privacy), 13, wrote in to KLTY’s “Christmas Wish”.  Mary overheard her parents talking in a tense conversation about how hard Christmas would be this year because her Mom also just delivered a baby girl in early December.  Without paid maternity leave, this military family with a newborn and 3 teenagers would have no extra money for a Christmas dinner and gifts.

"Everyone knows my dad's love for our military and as a veteran himself, we knew this gift would be special to him," continued Kelly.  "With the contributions from every employee, we now have more than enough money to supply this family with Christmas dinner and some special gifts this Christmas when it would have been impossible otherwise.  We've been in contact with them and they are so grateful.  It's a blessing to all of us to help this family. "
