By: bigfeats In Australia, ex Midnight Oil members (Jim, Rob, Martin) have joined with ex-Violent Femmes bass player (Brian) in a new outfit called The Break, and are playing many gigs and releasing new material. Bands from the 60's like the Atlantics have also enjoyed new life in this genre. One style not yet widely revived (yet!) is in the style of The Shadows. Sydney guitarist and composer, Gary Kurzer has recorded such a song, with the lush orchestration that some Shadows songs featured. Gary played all instruments and did the arrangement. With that traditional Fender Strat tone, you will be reminded of songs like "Wonderful World." Gary was encouraged to release this track internationally (great for a tv or movie theme) by his musical friends, as well as by colleagues and commentators who heard this song. He also is releasing original songs both individually and with his band colleagues. End
