John Greenleaf Whittier Middle School Students Collect Toys For The Toys For Tots Program

Jan. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Haverhill, MA-based John Greenleaf Whittier Middle School students collected more than 100 new toys over the holidays to donate to the U.S. Marine Corp Reserve Toys for Tots program.

The Whittier Middle School junior honor society, with the help of honor society advisor and teacher Julie DeBlasis, coordinated the toy drive at the school. Buyers Brokers Only, LLC, a Haverhill-based exclusive buyer agent real estate firm, helped the school coordinate the effort with representatives of the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.

The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. The national effort is administered locally, and is funded and supported by the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, a not-for-profit public charity. The success of the program heavily relies on community involvement and volunteer support.
