From Theater News, by Andy Propst: "The nominations for Outstanding Los Angeles Theater are Dr. Cerberus by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Haram Iran by Jay Paul Deratany, Revolver by Chris Phillips, Something Happened by L. Trey Wilson, and The Twentieth-Century Way by Tom Jacobson. In the television categories, Fox's Glee, along with Greek, Modern Family, Nurse Jackie, and United States of Tara have been nominated as Outstanding Comedy Series. The movies Burlesque, Easy A, The Girl Who Played With Fire, The Kids Are All Right, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World have been nominated as Outstanding Film - Wide Release." Jay Paul Deratany's Haram Iran is a gay and human rights play, about two youth charged with the crime of homosexuality in modern Tehran, and slated for execution by hanging. The play has received global praise, and has been performed in Chicago and Los Angeles. A London production is planned for 2011-12, and a local prominent gay advocate is closely involved in the pending production. End
