Plush Memories Lost Toy Search Service Finds Bear for a Terminally Ill Child

Feb. 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Plush Memories recently received an urgent email from Kimberly, the mother of a terminally ill child, who needed to find a bear to replace the one that was lost at St. Jude’s hospital.  Thanks to the large number of people from all over the world who volunteer their time on Plush Memories, the beloved bear was found within hours and was on its way home the next morning.

As soon as Kimberly’s request for help was received, even before she sent a photograph of the bear, Rosemary, the Plush Memories Administrator, emailed the Fabulous Finders with the story and the description of the bear she needed. Almost immediately emails were pouring in saying they were sure that the mother was wrong about the brand of the bear. By then the photos were also sent to the Finders, and her request was posted on Plush Memories. Several Finders sent the link to one for sale on the Internet they were just sure was the correct bear, even though it was a different brand than Kimberly had thought it was!

The sale was about to end, so the owners of Plush Memories did what they sometimes do in situations like this. They bought it and asked the seller to wait until they had the correct mailing address before shipping it.  Donations to their site are used for circumstances like this.

So less than 24 hours after receiving the request for help, this much loved bear was on its way home to be with a very sick child.
