Follow on Google News | Dana Brown Charitable Trust Awards Grant to The National Children’s Cancer SocietyThe Dana Brown Charitable Trust recently awarded a $10,000 grant to The National Children’s Cancer Society (NCCS). The grant will help the NCCS provide additional college scholarships to childhood cancer survivors in 2011.
By: The National Children's Cancer Society The NCCS’s survivorship program, Beyond the Cure, developed a scholarship program three years ago to assist young men and women who have overcome cancer to achieve their long-term goals. “We are honored to receive a grant from the Dana Brown Charitable Trust,” said Pam Gabris, Beyond the Cure program coordinator of NCCS. “It will help increase the number of college scholarships we award for the 2011-2012 year.” Dana Brown was a well-known entrepreneur and philanthropist. Originally from West Virginia, Brown adopted St. Louis as his home and had a deep affection for the region and many of the institutions that have made the area great. Shortly before his death, Brown established the Dana Brown Charitable Trust.
