Hockey in the Hood 7 - the city meets the suburbs in Detroit, MI - Feb. 18-20, 2011

Feb. 18, 2011 - PRLog -- The annual Hockey in the Hood tournament breaks down stereotypes and promotes friendships by bringing together diverse inner-city and suburban hockey teams for a fun-filled weekend tournament hosted by the Detroit Hockey Association. http://www.detroithockey.org/hockey-blog.htm  

Martin Luther King Junior asserted, "I have a dream that one day ... little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers." February 18 - 20, 2011 the spirit of these words will be alive in Hockey in the Hood 7. While hockey players don't necessarily "join hands" there will be plenty of hard checks and high-fives at Hockey in the Hood 7 in Detroit, MI.

Hockey in the Hood 7 (Feb. 18 - 20, 2011) welcomes NHL Hockey is for Everyone teams from  Columbus, Ohio; Detroit, MI; Minneapolis, MN; Washington, DC, and Wasilla, AK.  Suburban teams from metro Detroit have been increasing their presence since HITH V.  Hockey in the Hood VII promises to be the most competitive to date, especially at the Bantam level.  Eight Bantam teams will be competing this year.
