Illinois High School Students Learn about Indoor Air Quality

Feb. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Earlier this month, Ed Chambers was asked to present to environmental science high school students at Woodstock High School and Woodstock North High School.  Several classes got to learn about IAQ and jobs in the industry from Mr. Chambers, the owner of EC2, Inc., one of the Midwest’s leading environmental consulting firms.

Mr. Chambers taught the students about how indoor air quality can affect people’s health and even their ability to learn in school.  Students learned about everything from microbial contaminants, such as mold, bacteria and viruses, to chemical irritants, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs), formaldehyde and ozone.  Students also learned about the types of professional fields available to them and the necessary educational requirements to be hired and excel at environmental sciences.

EC2 was chosen to present to the students due to their proven track record after conducting over 5,000 IAQ investigations in such diverse settings as schools, commercial structures, hospitals and residential environments.  The company has built a solid reputation for resolving environmental issues quickly and without major disruption to activities or loss for their customers.
