Mark Hammond, MPS, Named CFO for The Wartburg

Feb. 24, 2011 - PRLog -- Mr. Mark Hammond, M.P.S., has been appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of The Wartburg Adult Care Community in Mount Vernon, NY.  Mr. Hammond joins The Wartburg from his private consulting firm which he has operated since the closure of the New York United Hospital Medical Center where he was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, as well as President and Chief Executive Officer during its wind-down.  

“We are pleased to have Mark’s expertise as The Wartburg embarks on repositioning the Mount Vernon campus,” said David Gentner, President and CEO of The Wartburg.   “New campus-wide initiatives include creating a new rehab-focused skilled nursing building with modern space to accommodate Adult Day Programs, plus construction of a separate 60-unit housing building with supportive services for seniors. We seek to also expand our presence with community-based programs.  These massive projects, as well as our programs' ongoing operations, require a high level of financial acumen and knowledge of the health care industry, and I believe that The Wartburg will be well served by Mark.”

Mr. Hammond has also worked at Westchester Ellenville Community Hospital and the Greater Hudson Valley Health System and The Cornwall Hospital.  He has a Master of Professional Services degree in Healthcare Administration from New School for Social Research and a Bachelor of Science in Economics & Finance from SUNY New Paltz.  He is a resident of Goshen, NY.
